Meet the masseuse.

Ezra Cackler and their dog at the beach on a sunny day

(they/them/theirs)

Ezra grew up on a small dairy goat farm in Western Oregon. They spent their childhood showing chickens and goats up to a national level as well as dabbling in horses, sheep, alpacas, and rabbits. They volunteered for mixed-animal vet clinics through high school and started working as a veterinary assistant for a mixed animal holistic mobile vet while they were getting their biology degree. They’ve continued working in the veterinary field ever since and started their massage business in the spring of 2021 after completing their rehabilitative massage certification for large and small animals. In their spare time they enjoy fiber arts, hiking with their partner, and clicker training with their dog (Laika, seen above!) and whatever horses they can get their hands on.

Ezra was drawn to massage because of the amount of pain they noticed in the animals they handled. As they trained and handled more animals, they saw so many “behavior” problems that were actually the result of pain that wasn’t being identified or addressed. Part of the issue was that pain medications alone didn’t address the complex causes of chronic pain. Many veterinarians now recommend a multi-modal approach to chronic pain, involving pain medications, manual therapies like massage or physical therapy, and alternative therapies like acupuncture or herbal supplements. Ezra Is very proud to be part of the care team for so many animals and to bring them the relief they deserve!
